ReplyDeleteI whole heartedly agree, who cares if its not their real names, my real name isn't Lenny, but its what i go my to my friends (even if its not as cute as elle and blairs nicknames) but still, and them keeping information private, good. I wouldn't want anyone to be in danger over any of this, so thanks for posting :) It needed to be said xxx

It confuses me why people fill their lives with such hatred.

I'm sure some people feel genuinely upset by the rumors they have heard and reacted badly, but all this must stop now.

Or blocking someone simply for asking an innocent question weather their names are really Lisa and Elizabeth?
They do get paid for plugging companies, I know other gurus do it too, but Lisa and Elizabeth seem to go overboard with it. It gives the impression that they have no integrity and do anything for a bit of money. What about that lame sunbiz sponsored competition by Lisa? Or that horribly scripted "amiclubwear" video from Blair? And "fridaynightfashions"? And take into account they have a lot of young impressionable viewers (especially Elizabeth); perhaps more than other gurus.

This is beyond ridiculous. Elle and Blair had people that were loyal to them, that supported them, that subscribed to them and in my case I admired their work ethics and I wanted to support them so I purchased several time from GG.

All they had to do was address the matter "Oh yeah guys, we weren't comfortable using our names on the internet so we have online names" and apart from a few weirdos that would be the end.
But no they're creating drama and acting like divas.
To say they've made it tough for themselves is the understatement of the century.
All this "haters" business is pathetic. Blair has the excuse of being a child but Elle is technically an adult and should act like one.

I just rewatched Lisa's "Style Tip: Skinny Jeans". She says that when she was in NY she was eating in a cafe, and mysteriously just "ran into" the co-owner of the Skinny Jeans company. She then proceeds to spend the entire video completely plugging the company. On the sidebar is then a link to the site, with an affilate code in the URL.
It makes me laugh how much complete bullshit she actually makes up to cover up the fact she is getting paid to plug the companies.
'Elle' and 'Blair' are their nicknames, i'm not sure but I think they are their middle names. But if not, WHO CARES, they're nicknames, everyone has them! Everyone needs to relax, seriously!
ReplyDeleteAs for the advertising part and promotion and stuff, it doesnt freakin matter, so what if they are promoting some stuff, if they are getting paid then it could be a job they have. And just because they are getting paid doesn't mean they lie and say the product is good, if it isn't. People need to have trust, seriously, and even if they are saying a product is good, and its not, then who the heck is making you go out and buy it. You can always stick to the stuff that you know or check out some other reviews, if everyone one says its a good product then probably it is and you would be safe for you to buy it.
So in conclusion, WHO CARES IF THEY ARE GETTING PAID OR USE NICKNAMES, it doesn't matter! Jeez, no one makes you buy the product so CALM THE HECK DOWN.
This is all STUPID HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA, seriously.
I'm not saying I adore them, but I don't hate them, I watch their videos, if I like a product I'll go and buy it but if I don't believe in it then okay, what am I gonna do - nothing! So everyone relax, if you don't like them anymore or feel betrayed or w.e. then unsubscribe, but no one forces you to convince others to do the same, thats how drama spreads, so seriously grow up.
Sorry if this is harsh in any way but its just annoying how all this drama is spreading. We all know they use nicknames, theres nothing wrong with that!

Wow. I don't get how some of you can hate on someone that you have never met before. If you don't like Elle or Blair, don't watch them. It's that simple. You seem to be wasting a LOT of time and energy on girls you don't even know.

But wait....where's the proof? Don't worry, you're going to see for yourself. Simply:
1. Go to google.com
2. Type in "craigslist youtube beauty gurus"
3. Click on first link
There you would see an advertisement on craigslist offering $300 to $1000 per video.
Also, one final comment. Do you really think that they just happen to run into these people who give them free stuff? If so, why isn't Michelle Phan who has way more subscribers (250k compared to Elle and Blair's 100k)? She is always featured on youtube. Don't you think she'll have more of a chance of running into people who head companies (like the Skinny Jeans and Big Lips Skinny Hips company)?
However, I was 12 once. I know how it is to see your hero as doing no wrong (which is not bad. It's just your pure innocence). I still like Elle and Blair and I still subscribe to their videos. I just do not appreciate them making false reviews.
If you ignore my whole message just please understand this main point: if you want a product that you have never heard of, please do reviews online first so that you do not waste your money. Simply go to google and type in "product name reviews" or go on makeupalley.com (sadly you have to register but it's free) or totalbeauty.com.

The important thing is this: they are misleading people into believing that they bought the products. I don't care how you twist it: saying you "bought products" when you are really getting paid to review the products is wrong. Blair said she bought the clothes in amiclubwear when it is obvious it was a paid advertisement. That is wrong! It makes people believe it is a true review.
Elle stated she bought sunlove when she was getting paid for it. That is wrong because she outright lied, not implied, but bold-faced lied to make people believe she was doing an honest review.
We know celebrities get paid for endorsements. What's the difference? You never seen Rihanna or Beyonce stating "I bought such and such product for Covergirl/L'Oreal and I love it and will continue to buy it." That would be a bold-faced lie. That's the difference.
Btw I did state that I unsubscribed to them. I don't care if you advertise...be my guest. But if a guru states that they bought a product when they did not, I am not watching because you are lying and misleading your viewers into buying crap. That's the difference.
As I stated, go on and make money, you deserve it if you worked hard for it. Just don't do it by being fradulent and lying about how you acquired a product.
Btw, how is "print-screening" the personal messages THEY received THREATENING (wrongly too) too much time on their hands? It's not like they hacked into Blair and Elle's profile. They received this personally.

If their information should not be online then you should ask Elizabeth and Lisa why they put it online for the world to see in various online newspaper and magazine articles. Nobody went digging up any info on them...THEY happily gave their real names, cities, dads info, and schools to the media to be published on the internet where the whole world could see it.
Then "Blair" even twittered about one such article. People who saw the info a few months ago would send her comments like "hey I love your real name Elizabeth" and they used to get banned and blocked and even threataned and there is proof of all of it.
Dr. Seuss is his REAL name....his name is Theodor Seuss so I dont know what you are talking about there....
But Celebs for example use fake names all the time and nobody cares. For example Miley Cyrus was born named Destiny. Nobody cares because if anyone asked her if her real name is Destiny and she just prefers Miley she would say yes and not threatan to sue someone or be rude to anyone who asked.
They ARE paid for reviews by companies. Sunlove Tan even came out to the public in various articles and ADMITTED to paying Lisa $4000 for her to do the review and in that review by the way Lisa LIED and said she BOUGHT it....just like they have done iin many other videos.
You can be in denial all you want but the truth is they ARE liars and the deceptive behaviour they have is unacceptable.
I am not a "hater:...its not hate to expose the truth about someone or a company if they are doing something wrong.
The other blog out there is NOT a "hate" page... its people exposing the truth about them which is not hate. What they are dong is taking advantage of young girls and its very wrong and people deserve to know about it.
Nobody is wasting there time? This long msg took me about 3 min to type. And the reason there are screenshots on that other blog is because people demanded to see it. It takes like 1 minute to take a screenshot so dont worry nobody is "wasting their time"
